Scandinavian design traditions and 1970s aesthetics in a new apartment by Studio Lawahl

An original apartment M93 on the seventeenth floor of one of the newest residential complexes in the prestigious Södermalm district. The windows of one of the tallest buildings in central Stockholm offer a magnificent panoramic view of the city.

Apt M93 consists of four separate apartments spread over one and a half floors – the seventeenth and eighteenth floors of the building to be exact. Initially, the plan was to merge the apartments, but by keeping the different spaces separate, a new creative opportunity was created.

While the lounge has been influenced by the aesthetics of the 70s and a sense of disco, the private family home has been dressed in an earthy color palette with a calmer color scale and soft natural materials.

In addition to the residential apartment – which is the family's private sphere – there is an office, with a workplace, plenty of space for meetings with a separate kitchenette and a music studio. As well as a lounge intended for social gatherings, where you can organize parties and receptions without worrying about the music volume. On the floor above, the fourth and final apartment awaits with a guest room and gym.

Studio Lawahl: "For us as interior designers, it always makes it easier with an open-minded client, but in this case, there was also a specific wish that we really lean into the playful and take things to the next level."
