Mediterranean influences, earthy tones and quirky angles abound in this geometric extension and the soaring living spaces of this reconfigured Victorian townhouse.
While the original proportions of the terraced home are largely maintained, the rear has been extended with a double-height, skylit kitchen and dining room with an angular ceiling.
All & Nxthing:
"We were on boarded to create the interiors within Merrett Houmøller Architects inspiring architectural design. The clients wanted their home to be a sanctuary. A calming space with nods toward Mediterranean & So-Cal styles. For the kitchen a palette of natural finishes & oxidised copper worktops were chosen to help ground the cabinetry in the huge, angled double height space."
The band-sawn oak joinery in both rooms protrudes from the alcoves at low level angled to reflect inspiring extension design. The neutral limewashed walls add soft texture before almost seamlessly transforming into the more coarse clay plaster lining the kitchen.
A minimal and neutral material palette was chosen to create a sense of calm across the principal bedroom. Solid limestone floors add warmth to the otherwise seamless microcement bathroom.

A very interesting modern solution! 👏👏
