In the Grangia MP project, the architects have reimagined Alpine traditions to create a modern, comfortable home in the Alpine village of Champlas Seguin that meets all the owners’ requirements. The house, divided into two separate volumes, is connected by a central staircase made of iron and wood, which serves as a key design feature.

The designers explained that the main objective was to reconcile the demands and comforts of modern life with traditional farmsteads, Alpine barns and shepherds’ huts. The principles of harmonising tradition with modern requirements were given concrete expression in the interior layout, ensuring both functionality and comfort.

The living areas are situated on the top floor, where the pitched roof, timber structure and large south-facing windows frame a breathtaking view of the mountains. Light plays a central role here, highlighting the beauty of the textures in the finishing materials. Above the living room is a mezzanine housing a TV and relaxation area, designed as a cosy space that seems to float in the air. Here, beneath the sloping roof, warm materials and soft lighting create a cosy atmosphere, conceived as a sanctuary for peaceful family moments.
