‘Les Hippocampes’ is a 1960s villa situated on the French Riviera, perched on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. This beautiful home is a quiet, secluded retreat, hidden amongst the trees. Belgian interior designer Hélène Van Marcke sought to achieve a harmony between timeless and contemporary styles, drawing inspiration from the atmosphere of the French Riviera in the 1960s.

Designer Hélène Van Marcke decided to preserve as many of the original materials as possible. The stone fireplace, terracotta floors and iconic designer tables and chairs have lent the villa a timeless charm. The kitchen and bathrooms have been refurbished, drawing inspiration from the atmosphere of the Italian Riviera in the 1960s. The highlight of the renovation is the kitchen, where the old blends with the new as a tribute to both contemporary aesthetics and family heritage.
