Builtin Studio has carried out a refurbishment of a two-level flat situated on a high floor in ‘one of the most iconic buildings in West Chelsea’ in New York. The main living areas have been relocated to the top floor, where the owners can step out onto the terrace that wraps around the house and enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of Manhattan. The refurbishment made it possible to convert the lower level, which had previously housed the main living areas, into a more versatile and private space for the members of this large family and for entertaining guests.

A beautifully designed rooftop terrace that blends architecture, greenery, and city views. Warm wood planters filled with lush plantings soften the modern outdoor furniture, creating a refined yet relaxed setting for dining and lounging above the skyline.

The elongated wood table anchors the space, surrounded by minimalist chairs with curved forms, while subtle textures and neutral tones create a calm, elevated atmosphere that feels both modern and timeless.

Sleek stainless steel cabinetry meets warm wood flooring in this refined, urban kitchen. Clean lines, open glass shelving, and a statement industrial faucet create a perfect balance of modern minimalism and elevated functionality all framed by city views.

Dramatic stone fireplace anchors the space, while soft sage seating, warm wood tones, and curated art create balance and depth. Sculptural, layered, and effortlessly refined.
