Icona Architetti Associati designed a duplex for a young couple in the heart of Milan, on the upper floors of a building built in the 1930s. The renovation of the attic made it possible to add an additional floor of great height and create a comfortable duplex flat with penthouse and attic.

The staircase sculpture became the main vertical axis of the flat, adding a dynamic fluidity to the space. The designers based their interior concept on the combination of two different elements: two colours, two materials, two different forms of space balance and the soft contrast of modern and classic.
