This Spanish Revival-style house was renovated by Laura Brophy Interiors and transformed into a comfortable, contemporary coastal villa in Southern California. In a bid to create a harmonious blend of indoor and outdoor spaces, the building’s original architectural features were preserved. This has made the house the perfect setting for Orange County’s coastal lifestyle.
The calm, organically modern aesthetic is created by bespoke furniture, warm natural materials and textures in the wabi-sabi style. A timber-panelled ceiling, a striking staircase and a curved dining area lend the interior a timeless character, whilst the layout has been adjusted to maximise the ocean view towards Catalina Island and improve air circulation.
This high-quality renovation reflects the perfect blend of the classic charm of the Spanish Renaissance and contemporary design.
