The renovation and careful refurbishment of a four-storey Edwardian-style house in London, which has enabled the preservation of elements of its architectural heritage.

In Dulwich Garden House, a mix of new and vintage pieces were used to create a lived-in and comfortable design that balanced practicality with aesthetic.

De Rosee Sa: “With our client being Australian, a lot of it was about working with nature. It was really important that the landscape and garden were brought into the house, and that wherever she was in the house she would be able to look on to nature.”

De Rosee Sa: “Despite undergoing an unsympathetic renovation in the early 2000s, this Dulwich house presented exceptional architectural bones. Our studio retained key original elements to maintain its character, such as the U-shaped staircase, which was repainted to feel lighter, and the original front double-leaf door, refurbished to match the rest of the homes in the street.“

The brief for this outdoor space was to create a natural, organic flow from the house to the garden and beyond, avoiding hard landscaping elements like planter walls or balustrades.
